Even as a young child Lori was interested in creativity of any kind. She was happiest exploring whatever medium she could get her messy little hands on. She loves art and children and managed to fuse the two together as she followed her passion for art while raising her family. This successful fusion became evident when Lori won the Merit award for her oil painting “A Mother’s Love,” at the 2014 Art Classic in Santa Clarita, California.
As the originator of Creative Powers Art, Lori teaches children in her home studio. She loves how children are spontaneous, curious, and uninhibited. With experience in drawing and painting at Kids Art studio for over 8 years, Lori came up with her own unique style of teaching children. A native Californian who was raised in Burbank California, her studies have included: fashion illustration at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising as well as fine art and graphic design at Art Center College and Pasadena City College; head painting at the Animation Guild with Karl Gnass; figure and head drawing with Glen Orbik at the California Art Institute; and head painting at the Scottsdale art school. Currently, Lori is studying oil painting with her mentor and friend CM Cooper and painting still life with Sunny Apinchapong-Yang.
Lori encourages others to hold on to their childlike intuitive thinking. Her love for family continues to be an inspiration as her first grandchild, Abraham, also known as, “Abie Baby” appears in several of her newest pieces. Her hope is to continue to grow as an artist and never stop learning and exploring!
